We are so excited to welcome our very first guest author to Friday The Thirteeners! Kiersten White, author of the PARANORMALCY trilogy, has bravely agreed to do a dare for us, and she chose Amy Garvey's. I hope you find the results as hilarious as we did.
If you didn't know, on top of asking for truths and dares from you, we welcome authors to take up a challenge with us. This blog is all about participation, so keep sending in your ideas, and don't be afraid to sign up to play. We'll be nice. We promise.
Thanks for participating, Amy! As the author of today's chosen dare, you win a copy of one of Kiersten White's favorite kissy books: ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins (if you already own this book, we'll work out a different prize). Our lovely April Tucholke is on the chopping block next so send in more dares! Check back Friday for another post.
Oh, well done. Very well done. ::wild applause::
ReplyDeleteIt really wouldn't have been the same without the Tinkerbell journal, either.
Agreed. The Tinkerbell journal totally seals the deal. ;)
DeleteLOL!! That is hilarious! I really wish I saved my high school journals.
ReplyDeleteThanks for accepting the dare! Your poetry is hilarious! I think we all took ourselves way too seriously in high school.

:) That was awesome! My poetry from my teenage years is pretty similar. A lot of angst and a lot of line breaks...
You compared to your high school self is like me compared to my late elementary/early middle school self. I would write these, er, very deep poems and then share them with my family under the guise of "something we read in English class today." Don't think I fooled them, but they were nice enough to pretend.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of the dramatic one-liners, by the way. You can't get the "Ha"s right unless they're dramatically paused.
"Um... I lettered in it..."
ReplyDeleteTOO CUTE! Awesome job, Kiersten. Way to kick this off right! This is great, and I can't wait to see the responses to come.
I. can't. stop. laughing. *watches it again and again*
ReplyDeleteEeeeeeeeeeeee hee hee hee! LOVE.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I need to rewatch it just to laugh all over again. Such a fun dare, Thirteeners!
ReplyDeleteawesome. we would have been bffs. we didn't actually get a letter jacket for test taking but i totally would've gotten one. and we definitely handmade our academic decathalon sweatshirts. puff paint, anyone? my poems were a bit more angst ridden. apparently all boys were evil. very fun dare!
ReplyDelete"Weekend fancy." That's my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteI'm with April. "Weekend fancy" just transports the whole thing to a new level. Poor teenager Kiersten became a player in a regency romance, cruelly cast aside! (But she will get her revenge. Ha. Ha. Ha.)
DeleteToo funny! Seriously! Thank you for sharing high school poetry!
ReplyDeleteSo funny. I love how you wrote that he was in love with his brother in your poem. That was my favorite. I'm still laughing about it.
ReplyDeleteI loved this video... simply loved it!!
ReplyDeleteYeah. That was so funny. :o)
ReplyDeleteYou have excellent comical timing, Kiersten! Haha, thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteROTFL! That was too funny. She needs to unearth some more of that poetry!
ReplyDeleteThis was so hilarious! Oh goodness. Yeah. I may have a puffy floral journal with similar sentiments *coughs*
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to cast my vote with the "weekend fancy" folks. That was my favorite part. Aside from the whole thing of course. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found this blog! This looks like a blast and I can't wait to read more posts! Thanks for the awesome teenage poetry, Kiersten. I loved it :D
